First Birthday!!

A First Birthday Bash can be super fun but also super stressful. From coming up with a theme to the perfect cake it's enough to make any Mommy want to pull her hair out. I have three boys so I've had some practice and I must say my youngest son's First Birthday Party we had Sunday (Feb. 24) was by far the best!!

I went back and forth between two theme ideas. Monsters (which I happen to think are super cute!!) or a Nautical Theme (which is right up my Alley!! I had a whole 1950's idea in mind). After going back and forth between the two it totally turned into something else!! Landon is obsessed with Mickey Mouse. I just knew Mickey had to be the theme of his party!! I went crazy on Pinterest and Google searching for cute ideas. I made a lot of his decorations, some I bought at Walmart and Party City. It was a lot of fun. We had "Hot Diggity Dogs", and Chili for those who didn't want hot dogs, as well as other snacky stuff. I also made his cake. I love to bake and decorate cakes and I was super excited to make his!!

I didn't stress nearly as much as I did for past birthday parties, which was a huge blessing!! First of all I made out a to do list. Things I really wanted to do and get done long before the party started. I always wait until the day of the party to clean my house. Having three boys it's hard to keep the house looking perfect, so cleaning the day of I feel is a must!! I get everything else done earlier in the week or the day before so I can dedicate the day to cleaning as well as decorating. Thankfully I don't let my house become a disaster so it doesn't take much time to clean and I can have fun decorating. Having family members help out is always a great idea as well. My sister usually comes over before the parties and helps blow up balloons and hang streamers. My Mom helps with the food and usually my Mimi (grandma) keeps on top of any dishes that get dirty!! It's quite the family affair!! ha ha ha

I have to say, all of my boys are unique and different in so many ways. But, I honestly think Landon has had the most fun at his first birthday party than the other two. He totally put on a show for everyone as we were opening gifts. He loved everything he was getting. Mimi got him and outfit and I showed it to him and laid it on the floor in front of him not thinking he would pay attention to it. He got really excited, picked up the shorts and started playing peek-a-boo with everyone!! ha ha ha When he seen everyone was laughing at him he just kept doing it with the biggest smile on his face. I think he really enjoyed his party and that makes me a very happy Mama!!
